چکیده

Background/Aim. Osteoporosis is the most common metabolic bone disorder worldwide characterized by decreased strength that predisposes to an increased fracture risk, especially in postmenopausal women. Today, over 25 million people, mainly women, suffer from this disorder. In addition genetic predispositions, hormonal disorders, lifestyle, and insufficient vitamin D levels blood are significant risk factors for occurrence of osteoporosis low-energy fractures. The aim our study was analyze incidence correlation between deficiency secondary hyperparathyroidism women different ages with Methods. This cross-sectional included 559 who were not previously treated osteoporosis. All clinically examined their anamnesis chronic illnesses, fractures, therapies taken. Height weight measured, body mass index (BMI) calculated. Risk osteoporosis, including concentration 25-hydroxyvitamin [25(OH)D] parathyroid hormone (PTH), measured. Vitamin defined as serum level 25(OH)D less than 30 ng/mL (75 nmol/L). Results. a total which fractures identified 102 Women older (63.69 ? 13.88 years) compared without (54.39 14.10 (p < 0.0005). Furthermore, BMI also higher (27.75 kg/m2) other group (26.49 0.025). Out 88 postmenopausal. frequent humerus radius 11.62% (65/559), followed femoral neck 7.15% (40/559), vertebrae 3.04% (17/559). A decrease mineral density (BMD) spinal sites observed but did have impact on incidence. PTH statistically Conclusion. all three types age, BMD, mechanical force during fall (estimated through BMI).

Vitamin D deficiency and secondary hyperparathyroidism in pediatrics obesity

Obesity is one of the health problems in the developing and developed countries. Obesity subjects the individuals with metabolic and endocrine disorders. It is obvious that vitamin D deficiency or insufficiency may lead to secondary hyperparathyroidism. Thus, obesity increases the risk of vitamin D deficiency. Considering the high prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in children and adolescents w...

Vitamin D analogues for secondary hyperparathyroidism.

Secondary hyperparathyroidism (2HPT), a common disorder in patients with chronic renal failure, develops in response to phosphate retention and low serum 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3) (1,25(OH)(2)D(3), calcitriol). Replacement therapy with calcitriol or its precursor 1alpha-hydroxyvitamin D(3) (1alphaOHD(3), alfacalcidol) often produces hypercalcaemia, especially when combined with calcium-based p...

Secondary hyperparathyroidism due to vitamin D deficiency

Introduction: Vitamin D is increasingly recognized as playing a significant role in combatting many diseases. One is the development of secondary hyperthyroidism due vitamin D deficiency. To date, laboratory quantification methods of serum vitamin D were not well standardized. It could not be established with certainty from which levels of vitamin D certains abnormalities take place, like an el...

Efficacy of cinacalcet with low-dose vitamin D in incident haemodialysis subjects with secondary hyperparathyroidism.

BACKGROUND Treatment with cinacalcet improves the control of secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) and the achievement of calcium and phosphorus targets. Most data come from subjects receiving cinacalcet after several years of dialysis treatment. We therefore compared the efficacy of treatment with cinacalcet and low doses of active vitamin D to flexible doses of active vitamin D alone for the m...
